FAQs
BodyMind Maturation Coaching is based on the understanding that many of the struggles we experience in life are shaped by patterns and ways of being that we developed early on in order to belong, feel safe, and be accepted. From a young age, we begin forming an idea of who we are and how we fit into the world. This process starts within the family and expands into school, friendships, and wider social environments. Along the way, we learn how we need to be in order to receive love, attention, safety, and approval. Perhaps we learned to overgive or overshare or we learned to hide how we feel. Maybe we felt the need to shrink ourselves and avoid standing out. Or perhaps we believed we had to be perfect and never fail.
These ways of being helped us adapt and survive. However, as we grow into adulthood, we often continue carrying these patterns unconsciously. They feel so familiar that we assume they are simply who we are. What we often don’t recognise is that this way of being shapes how we experience the world. Instead, we tend to see our challenges as being caused by other people or external circumstances.
These challenges may appear as:
Emotional struggles such as overwhelm, anxiety, dissatisfaction, loneliness, resentment, or a persistent sense of lack
Difficult relationships like a demanding sibling, an aggressive boss, unsupportive friends, or a distant partner
Life challenges which could appear as recurring obstacles, financial strain, or the feeling that success always requires a struggle
In Maturation, these “problems” are not something to fix or avoid. Even when we change partners, jobs, environments, or strategies, the relief is often temporary, because the underlying patterns remain unchanged. Instead, these experiences are can be seen as valuable clues. They point towards the deeper patterns and ways of being that are shaping our reality.
As these patterns are brought into awareness and clearly distinguished, something begins to shift. There is an opportunity not to fix yourself, but to outgrow what is no longer aligned. From this deeper shift, change is no longer something forced from the outside. The way you relate to yourself, others, and life naturally begins to reorganise and with that, your experience of the world can change in a way that is more stable, authentic, and lasting.
Sessions take place bimonthly and last for one hour, held via video call with flexibility around scheduling. Each session begins with a short grounding practice to help you arrive and settle into the space. Rather than following a rigid plan, I listen carefully to what is most alive and relevant for you, and we work from there.
We will explore the challenges and blocks that are coming up in your life using them as entry points to uncover the deeper patterns beneath them. One of my roles is to act as your mirror, helping you recognise aspects of your way of being that can be difficult to see on your own. We work somatically, meaning we include the body in the process. When something affects us emotionally, the body often responds with sensations such as tightness, heat, contraction, or agitation. These physical signals can reveal deeply stored memories that the mind alone cannot access. By working somatically, you will move beyond understanding, into something deeply felt and known. As this unfolds, there is an opportunity to loosen the attachment to your fixed identity and from there, you can begin to discover what is possible for you, beyond the story of who you have always known yourself to be.
Having WhatsApp access between sessions offers an additional layer of support, so you are not navigating the process alone between our calls. It is often in the space between sessions that real life situations arise which reflect exactly what we've been working on. With ongoing support, these moments can be felt and voiced as they happen and used to deepen the work, rather than reflecting on them afterwards.
You are invited to use our 1:1 WhatsApp space to share a message or voice note when something is unfolding in real time, particularly when emotions are present and alive. Working with experiences as they happen often opens the door to deeper insight and more meaningful shifts. In this way, the work moves beyond something that is only talked about, and becomes something that is lived, embodied, and integrated into your day-to-day life.
You are welcome to leave messages at any time of day or night, and I will respond during working hours, unless you communicate to me that it is urgent.
Breathwork is an important complement to the coaching work. During coaching sessions, we may uncover emotions or experiences that have been stored or suppressed for a long time. Breathwork offers a powerful way for these emotions to move and release through the body without needing to analyse or interpret them.
Each breathwork session can bring something different according to what it is you need. There may be emotional release, such as tears or anger moving through the body. There can be moments of insight or clarity. You might discover a deep sense of connection, with yourself, others, or something greater. Sometimes the body simply needs rest.
Interestingly, breathwork sessions often reflect the themes we are exploring in coaching, whether that is emotional protection, resistance, numbness, or transformation. For this reason, I find breathwork to be a powerful way of deepening and supporting the maturation process.
I trained with Nicky Clinch through her programme The Alchemy of Being, an intensive year-long training accredited by the Association for Coaching.
This training was different from traditional forms of study. Rather than focusing on techniques or memorising information, the emphasis was on learning to trust myself to listen and perceive beyond the limitations of my own personal story.
In order to truly support others in this work, I first had to face and explore my own patterns, conditioning, and shadows. It was a demanding but deeply transformative process. Through this training, I learned to trust a deeper form of listening, one that goes beyond the words someone is speaking and connects with the deeper place beneath their story. This allows me to meet each person not as a problem to fix, but as a human being navigating patterns that once served them.
I trained as a breathwork facilitator with Innercamp in Holosomatic Breathwork, an approach that integrates a range of modalities to support deep physical, emotional, and energetic healing.
Through conscious connected breathing, this work allows access to held patterns in the body, supporting their release, regulating the nervous system, and opening a deeper sense of connection.
This training is accredited by the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF) and includes a range of trauma-informed approaches, including:
Psychedelic breathwork using the breath to access expanded states of consciousness
Meditative breathwork cultivating stillness, awareness, and connection to yourself through gentle, conscious breathing
Trauma-release breathwork supporting the safe discharge of stored emotional tension and the nervous system regulation
Energetic breathwork working with the body's energy to restore flow and balance
Shamanic breathwork drawing on ancient traditions and tapping into the bodys internal wisdom.
Tantric breathwork activitaing life force energy through the chakras
Across all of these, my approach is not about fixing or forcing change, but about creating the conditions where the body can naturally unwind, integrate, and return to its inherent intelligence.
I offer breathwork both online and in person, working with individuals as well as groups.
Ongoing personal development is an essential part of my work as a coach. I regularly attend supervision sessions and continue to work within one to one and group development spaces. I believe that the depth I can hold for others is directly connected to the depth of work I am willing to do within myself.
The maturation process is not something that ever truly ends. As we grow, new layers of awareness continue to emerge, inviting us to see and outgrow survival patterns again and again. This commitment to seeing and taking responsibility for my own survival mechanisms allows me to pierce through the patterns my clients are identified with, helping them to see clearly what is shaping their experience.
The best way to find out is by setting up a call. I offer an introductory video call where we can explore what is currently happening in your life and the challenges you may be facing. This gives you the opportunity to experience the space I hold and ask any questions you may have. We can also discuss practical details such as session structure, timing, and payment options, and explore what kind of container might best support you.
If you are unsure at the end of the conversation, there is absolutely no pressure to decide immediately. I understand that this work is a commitment both financially and emotionally and it is important that the decision feels right for you.
This work unfolds over time, and meaningful transformation cannot happen instantly. For this reason, the containers I offer begin with a minimum commitment of six months. This allows the process the space it needs to deepen and integrate.
However, I understand that if this is your first experience of maturation work, it can feel daunting. I am happy to discuss options or trial periods so that you can explore the work in a way that feels supportive.
